Programs for Schools

We welcome school classes to the museum for field trips and special events. Living history programs can be tailored to specific topics and needs. Our costumed docents, many of whom are retired teachers or practicing artisans, can illustrate aspects of farm and family life in eastern North Carolina before the Civil War and the changes happening in rural areas during the early part of the 20th century. Our program coordinators can provide lesson plans and suggestions for assignments as well. The museum is ADA compliant and handicap accessible, has modern restroom facilities, and grounds suitable for outdoor games and picnic lunches.

Contact us and we will arrange a time to talk further.
